How to use this podcast
Hi. I’m Henrik, and this podcast is here to help you fall asleep.
I talk about almost anything here. Small observations. Big thoughts. Memories. Side tracks. Jokes. Things that don’t lead anywhere. Sometimes it’s calm. Sometimes it’s strange. Sometimes it’s engaging, even entertaining, and sometimes... well sometimes it's just ... meh. All of that belongs here.
You can listen while falling asleep, but you can also just listen. If you get curious, involved, amused, or pulled along by a thought, that’s fine. If you get bored or just feel indifferent about the whole thing, that's also fine. It's part of the method.
My view on sleep is simple: fighting wakefulness usually makes it stronger. Letting things be as they are often softens them.
You don’t have to try to sleep. You don’t have to try to follow either. Let your attention do whatever it wants. Drift in and out. Stay awake. Fall asleep. Wake up again.
I don’t use a script. I speak freely, and I let the episode become whatever it becomes. The words matter sometimes. The rhythm matters other times. Nothing needs to resolve.
Use new episodes or the same one every night. Stop halfway. Skip around. There’s no correct way to listen.
Things are allowed to be what they are.
That includes you.
Sleep tight.
/Henrik

Close Your Eyes and Let Go
Hi, Sleepy. Tonight we begin in the benigning, which is not a word, but it might be a place. A small Swedish-English place where I stand with my pockets full of half-working words, wondering if I have enough of them to carry us through the night. From there we somehow move toward a forest, an axe, m...
Rust, Moss and the End of the List
In this episode, Sleepy, I try to list everything in the universe before the hour is over. It starts well, with light, the moon, spoons and dust, but then reality becomes rude and starts unfolding in too many directions at once. There are atoms, hiccups, moss, mirrors, shadows, debt, mushrooms, rust...
Words That Wander Home
Tonight I fall into the strange little trapdoor between Swedish and English, Sleepy, where one word is perfectly innocent on one side of the sea and slightly alarming on the other. There will be Swedish words. Real ones. Suspicious ones. A few that sound rude but are mostly about road signs, ice cre...

Great for more than just falling asleep
I don’t remember how I found this podcast, it might have been a radio ad that I heard. I love this podcast. I was using to fall asleep, but I have since started listening to it at work. Henrik is really delightful to listen to and I really enjoy how he starts off talking about something and then takes off in a diffe...

This podcast is so beautiful. I have post concussion syndrome and for the first time in a year I am able to sleep without pharmeceuticals. It gives me so much peace and comfort. To relax is a gift, to sleep is allowing my brain to heal. Thank you so very much for being so open with your mind so that mine can rest. May ...
